Gym Class Heroes  ft. Adam Levine: Stereo Hearts



I loved Travis' Solo album, so much,  I secretly hoped this would be in the same vein. Not that I mind this song, Adam Levine (the second hardest working man in music) sells it. I think without Adam it would have been mediocre. 

Estelle ft Rick Ross - Break My Heart

After "American Boy" everyone called Estelle a "One Hit Wonder", this kind of amuses me because it was also said after she released her first album. Estelle keeps going away coming back blowing everyone out of the water and slinking quietly away only to return and do it all over again.

Patrick Stump - "This City" (ft. Lupe Fiasco)

Lupe's rap really brings this together. I stan for Fall out boy and Patrick Stump, so much so I saw them in concert! I have their last album on repeat whenever I need to get revved up.

I went to see Big Boi

A week ago, my friend won tickets to see a Big Boi gig and was nice enough to invite me along. It was amazing to say the least! The set was a mixture of OLD outkast stuff and his solo material. He was totally live and full of energy and I loved every minute of it. But, after seeing his glasto gig, I feel a bit short changed because he had a live band on stage with him while all we got was a D playing the backing instrumentals.

FINALLY!  I'm been waiting for the album that defines 2010 and I think this is it.

About the video:

The Roots' music video which is made under direction hands of Rik Cordero to support their latest single "The Fire" has been debuted. It follows a group of men as they are led by army through a bloody, violent and hopeless march toward the unknown.

It chronicles a post-apocalyptic death march set in 1945 during the final stages of World War II in Europe. After a cataclysmic event renders the war futile, a paramilitary splinter group, led by a Kurtz-like figure known as The Commodore, forces the transfer of young men who will be used as labor...and food. The last survivor of the march receives a mysterious White Box which holds the key to survival.Featuring John Legend, "The Fire" is taken from The Roots' ninth studio album "How I Got Over". Rik said of the song as quoted by OkayPlayer, "[It] is one of my favorite tracks off HIGO and really feels like something you'd hear in the theater. The line 'you don't say good luck, you say don't give up' inspired me to create a period piece narrative that stays true to the lyrics while adding another layer to the interpretation."

Heard this on flashforward and as usual I hit google trying to find out the name of the song. Luckily, abc.com has a list of the music featured in each episode.

I'm not sure where I heard this song - I think it was Eli Stone. The line, "I know Jesus was a rock star
and it was Elvis who turned water into wine" got me googling and downloading like a music addict in need of a fix. The rest of the album (The Stoop) is pure joy! It is very memorable, the lyrics are witty and easy to relate to.

So, I've been re-reading my old posts and noticed some typos/lack of clarity. I try my best to make my blogs typo free, but sometimes even after reading things again and again I still miss something. If you are one of the few people who've read a blog post with typos and thought "WTF did I just read?", I'm truly sorry and I'm trying to pay closer attention to the little details.

Also, I'm working on a series of blog postings about music in television shows and I'm really excited because this is a real passion of mine. Trying to keep things a bit more interesting around here, so I'm not just posting videos and reviews.
